Our family therapy services help families navigate through challenges, improve communication, and build stronger relationships. Our counselors work with families to identify goals and develop strategies to achieve them. Family therapy encompasses spousal and parental relationship support, working to understand the family dynamics between parents and children in addition to relationships with extended or blended families all keeping to the goal to work to nurture positive change and development. Most family therapy models are built on the communication of feelings, thoughts and ideas to provide a healthier sense of self and emotional release. My practice encompasses the concept that therapy involving the immediate family, or the family that lives together, helps promote a happier and healthier household. In therapeutic situations dealing with family members who have anxiety, depression, trauma responses, substance abuse problems, eating disorders and struggles with communication. This may provide better strategies for family members to become involved in the issue and help promote internal individual growth as well as family cohesion.
Individual therapy is a form of therapy in which you the client is treated on a one-on-one basis with a therapist. This is the most popular form of therapy, individual therapy may encompass many different treatment styles including psychoanalysis and cognitive-behavioral therapy. Individual therapy allows for increase focus in building a therapeutic relationship with the therapist working to solve individual concerns. Primary tools I use is Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques. Cognitive-behavioral therapy enables you to manage your fears by helping you gradually change the way you think. It's based your interconnected of thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and behaviors. Solution Focused Therapy enables you to focus on a your present and future circumstances and goals rather than past experiences. In this goal-oriented therapy, the symptoms or issues can bring you to therapy are typically not targeted.
Our couples therapy services help couples improve communication, build intimacy, and strengthen their relationship. Our counselors work with couples to explore concerns and develop strategies to achieve their goals. Couples often participate in marriage counseling to help discover or prevent problems from occurring in the relationship and to work to build a solid foundation for their family. Couples often struggle with appropriate communication about money, the future, past trauma’s or current emotions and fears. In couples therapy I work with couples to find different ways of communicating emotions about various issues, helping to promote a healthier relationship. Since the relationship can affect the emotions of a child involved in a marriage, dealing with how to cope with pressures in a relationship around a child is critical in couples therapy.
